We’ve opened registration for next month’s alumni weekend, April 17-19! We hope to see y’all there!
Tickets are $60, which includes the Saturday luncheon, a light breakfast for the LTT! workshop, and a ticket to The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at DramaTech. You can register here and purchase your ticket here.
Full Schedule
Friday afternoon: Welcome dinner at Rocky Mountain Pizza
From 7pm to 9pm, we’ll be out on the back patio of Rocky Mountain Pizza just off campus.
Saturday morning: LTT! Improv Workshop and Bagels
At 10am, we’ll have coffee and bagels at DramaTech, then from 11am-1pm DramaTech’s own Let’s Try This! improv troupe will run a workshop in the black box.
Saturday luncheon in the Student Center
From 1pm to 2pm, we’ll have lunch in the Student Center with some updates on how DT’s been doing over the last few years.
Saturday afternoon: Campus Walking Tour
After lunch, join us for a 90-minute campus walking tour starting from the Student Center, and see how Georgia Tech is changing! If there’s anything you want to be sure to see on the tour, let us know (board@friendsofdt.org) and we’ll work with the guide to see if we can build it in.
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
The main event! Come by the theatre at 8pm to enjoy the closing performance of DramaTech’s Spring musical:
An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves a champion! At least the losers get a juice box.
Sunday morning: Farewell brunch at Manuel’s Tavern
We wrap up the weekend with a brunch at Manuel’s Tavern. We’ll start early at 10am to make sure folks who are traveling have a chance to drop by, but the restaurant did want us to note that per Georgia state law, alcohol service starts an hour later at 11am.
